    US-led genocide or …
US-led genocide or Canadian-led genocide: it’s all genocide. I’m sure that if the historical situation was different, it might have been native-led genocide. Feeling bad about it doesn’t justify denying it.

    Or to put it …
Or to put it another way, the NWMP protected First Nations groups on the prairies from the depredations of American whisky smugglers and threats of attack from the US Army, even to the point of allowing Sitting Bull and his Sioux to stay, as long as they kept the peace (which they did).

    The video says the …
The video says the RCMP “protected the railroad builders and pioneer settlers from the onslaughts of warring Indians”. Surely this should said “On the behalf of invading Europeans, attacked natives trying to defend their country.”

    Well, the “most …
Well, the “most westerly” part is still true (since 1949 it’s been 10 provinces). I agree that it’s a great vid. I love how little traffic there is, and how vibrant the harbour is.

    Have to love …
Have to love Victoria and Vancouver. The mildest climates in Canada.

Yes…it could be I guess. The roof tops are close by. I wondered about the Willows Beach race track?? I don’t know where it was….but there was one.

It might be …. as …
It might be …. as those roof tops would be about right. I was wondering if it was at Willows Beach as I’ve heard there was some sort of race track there at one time.

    “most westerly of …
“most westerly of Canada’s 9 provinces” — true, in 1936.

And check out the streetcars in downtown Victoria!!! Sigh….

    Check out the piper …
Check out the piper at 3:50 – he’s playing Scottish (or Irish) war-pipes, BUT theaudio is definately Irish Uillean pipes. I guess that’s what RCA mean bu Hi-Fidelity. Poor Scots, Braveheart, Rob Roy, every time movie-makers uses Irish Uillean pipes instaed, much to tehir chagrin.

    So that’s what it …
So that’s what it looked like before it was entirely overrun with riff-raff and degenerates.

    At 7:17 a driver …
At 7:17 a driver cuts through a line of pedestrians crossing the street. I see Vancouver drivers haven’t changed since 1936.

    Vancouver is best …
Vancouver is best known for its geographical beauty; lush gardens and expensive housing. My character building was built only three years before this film was shot. At 850sq its considered massive compared to the 550sq condos being built today.
